Carolina Vicente, a remarkable single mother of two, has faced unimaginable challenges with unwavering strength and determination. In November 2022, she was diagnosed with not just one, but two types of cancer. Over the past six months, Carolina has bravely undergone intensive chemotherapy while keeping her family together.
Yesterday, on May 24th, 2023, Carolina underwent a life-altering double mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection. This complex surgery was necessary as she had different types of cancer in each breast, and the lymph node dissection was performed on both sides. While the surgery has helped in her fight against cancer, it has also brought unforeseen challenges to Carolina's daily life.
The side effects of the surgery have impacted her arms, significantly affecting her ability to regain the strength and mobility she once had. As a loving mother, Carolina has devoted her time and energy to caring for her children, putting her own needs on hold. Unfortunately, this means she is currently unemployed and unable to provide for her family while she focuses on her recovery.
We have witnessed the incredible mercy of God in Carolina's life thus far, as she has been provided for in terms of shelter and day-to-day sustenance for her children. However, as she embarks on the road to recovery and searches for a new job, she will require additional support to meet her financial obligations and secure a stable future for her family.
