On Saturday, March 5, 2022, the world lost a beautiful soul through a tragic accident.

Matt was on a beach vacationing in Hawaii with his boyfriend and love of his life Nick, when he was swept out to sea. After a rescue attempt by Nick and an exhausting three day search, unfortunately, Matt was never found.

Matt was 25 years old with his whole life in front of him. A talented graphic designer and photographer, Matt was a free spirit who loved to travel and loved life. Many people go through life with only a few close friends, but Matt was one of the rare individuals with a multitude of close friends who all loved him. He was literally the straw that stirred the drink with a magnetic personality that would attract people from all walks of life and the ability to light up any room with his contagious smile. 

Loved by his father James; his mother Kim; his sister Emily; his grandmothers Jackie and Delores; all of his aunts, uncles and cousins; his friends, and entire community, Matt will be missed, but will never be forgotten.

I was fortunate to know Matt for almost all of his life. He touched my heart with his courage and his free spirit, and he will always be with me.

Because of the outpouring of requests by so many people to help the family in this time of need and sorrow, we have set up a fundraising page to help meet the various needs of the family.
