This is Nova. She is a Maine Coon cat, but between you and me I think, she was the runt of the litter. That has never stopped us from loving her. We recently had her spayed and she developed a heart condition. I guess this can happen in Maine Coons, and it could be one type, which is fatal, or it could be another type that clears up within three months. The problem is she keeps getting fluid in her lungs, and the lasiks they give us for home aren't as strong as what they give at the hospital. So she's here and good for half a day, and then starts breathing hard, starts hiding, like she's going to die, and just falls over on her side trying to breathe. Then we take her back to the vet and they use stronger lasiks and an oxygen tent, and within twenty four hours she's good and we bring her home, only to have it start again. The reason for this fundraiser is for the vet bills. When we go it's anywhere between fifteen hundred to five thousand dollars, every visit. We are just trying to get her through till they can tell us which type of heart condition it is, the one that kills, or the one that heals. The vet feels that it's the one that clears up in time, so we're trying to keep her going till it heals.
I never ask for help or money, but my wife and kids love her so much, that this is all I can do. So I stand here hat in hand asking strangers to please help my cat.
