On April 17th 2023 I will be running from just outside the town of Occidental CA all the way to top of Mt Saint Helena near Calistoga to raise money for Fire preparedness and fuel reduction work for the communities of Occidental and Camp Meeker.
That's over 40 miles and to an elevation of 4,342 ft in one day!!!
The first half of the money that is raised will be used to keep paying for the chipper service that I started last year as well as other fire fuel reduction projects within the community.
The other half of the funds will be donated to the Pole Mountain Lookout fundraiser. www.polemountainlookout.org This was our community's local fire look out station, but it is currently NOT operational.
Due to the dilapidated condition of the old facility, the original structure was demolished leaving or neighborhood and surrounding towns vulnerable to the threat of wildfire because there is NO camera equipment or personal on site.
