I am so excited to be on this journey to become a doctor. I am a first year medical student and loving it. Through my school I get the opportunity each semester to go on missionary trips to third world countries. While there I get to practice my skills and give healthcare to people who are in desperate need of medical attention.
I am trained to do a full head to toe diagnostic, checking for flags with vitals, major organ issues, blood pressure, cardiac issues and general sensory issues such as vision, hearing and reflex.
We spend 7 days seeing patients during the day with evenings off.
These trips have been reduced in cost by the school but airfare is still on the students.
