A beloved community member and our good friend Asia Mock is in need of our immediate support and financial assistance. As many of you know, Asia is a hard-working single mom, an incredible writer and multifaceted creative, and all-around joy to be around. Over the last few years, Asia has experienced chronic illnesses, healing from hysterectomy surgery, had to stop attending school, and endure long periods of not being able to work. It's been especially hard to regain stability in these (gestures wildly) crazy times for them, and we really hope to help them into the next phase of comfort and peace.
As if that wasn't enough, the home that Asia and their daughter (now a high school senior) have been living in since 2017, is now being urgently sold by Asia's ex who lives out of state. The original agreement was that they'd split purchasing the home, split the mortgage 50/50, and if they should part ways, Asia would keep the house for them and the kid. Fast forward to now, they must move out by October 20th, 2026.
Asia's ex has been forceful with the sale, seeking legal representation with no flexibility. Since he is out of state, Asia has been handling all the details of the transaction. On top of all of this, the house endured some tornado damage at the end of the summer, so Asia has had to make sure the house is in good condition to sell by these quick deadlines.
Every bit of support helps! Asia is walking from the house sale still owing $400, plus having to cover the cost of utilities and other expenses. We are aiming to ease stress and set them up with enough for daily expenses and rent money for the next place as they are figuring out options. Thank you so much!
