Hi, I am Sophie. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I have always wanted to make a difference in the animal world, especially with dogs. When I had to think of a mitzvah project, this seemed like the perfect plan. I decided that I wanted to do a fundraiser for an organization that gives dogs a second chance; this is when I found Rosemarie's Rescue Ranch (RRR). I wanted to do a project that was meaningful to me and required effort, so I reached out to the Junior League of Summit. They have graciously been giving me t-shirts that cannot be sold, and I have been turning them into handmade dog toys. I will give people these toys for a donation to RRR of $10 or more. Any extra dog toys will also be donated to RRR. For the last two weeks, my family has been a dog toy making workshop and I am proud and thankful for this. I wanted to get involved in my project, I wanted to do something productive that will help me feel accomplished. This is why and how I chose to help dogs for my mitzvah project.
