My husband Pedro and I have been together building a life, raising our babies, growing our small family business, and dreaming about things most families dream about — buying our first home, creating stability for our children, and giving them a safe, loving future. Pedro has always been the provider for our family. He is the kind of man who works until his hands ache, comes home exhausted, and still finds the energy to love on his kids and make us laugh.
In August 2025, Pedro left for his immigrant visa appointment in Ciudad Juárez believing he would be gone for only about two weeks. We prepared for a temporary separation. What we didn’t prepare for was our entire world to stop.
After attending his appointment and complying with every request asked of us, we were blindsided when his case became delayed and then effectively halted after a visa denial. Despite already having an approved waiver previously and doing everything we could to follow the process correctly, Pedro was told he would need to remain outside the United States for approximately a year before being eligible to continue forward.
Since then, our family has been living in survival mode.
I have been left to care for our three young children alone while also navigating pregnancy, financial hardship, emotional stress, and the overwhelming burden of trying to fight an immigration system that feels impossible to navigate without help. Our children ask for their dad constantly. There are birthdays, milestones, bedtime routines, and ordinary little moments that he has missed — moments we can never get back.
Behind closed doors, this separation has affected every part of our lives. Our business slowed dramatically without Pedro here. Bills piled up. We have faced moments where we genuinely did not know how we were going to keep everything afloat. Still, through all of this, we have tried to hold onto our faith and each other.
Anyone who knows Pedro knows his heart. He has spent years serving others through hard work, helping families transform their homes and outdoor spaces, and quietly helping people in need whenever he could, even when we ourselves did not have much. He is not dangerous. He is not a criminal. He is a father desperately trying to come home to his wife and children.
We are now trying to raise funds to help us continue fighting for our family. Donations will go toward:
- Immigration attorney fees
- Waiver filings and government filing fees
- Travel expenses related to Ciudad Juárez
- Medical re-evaluations and documentation
- Basic living expenses while our family remains separated
- Bringing Pedro home as soon as legally possible
