To elevate our scholars, we have set our sights on integrating them into Stoa USA, via our school club Exit-Us Speech and Debate, a premier national Christian homeschool speech and debate league whose explicit vision is to develop world-class communicators who speak boldly and change the world for the Most High. Through this transformative platform, our students will learn to navigate complex theological, political, and cultural ideas, master advanced policy research, and gather compelling facts to build intellectually sound arguments rooted deeply in truth .
Participating in Stoa tournaments requires a significant leap past local boundaries, calling on our students to travel the United States to face elite competition and engage with a nationwide community. As a private homeschool, Rhine Academy lacks the institutional funding of traditional public schools, leaving the considerable costs of tournament registrations, professional business attire, and cross-country travel entirely up to our families. While we work hard to keep costs low by utilizing league perks like community host housing, the financial considerations add up quickly. Annual league and local club dues average up to $275 per family, individual tournament entry fees run $25 to $50 per event, and qualifying for the prestigious National Invitational Tournament of Champions (NITOC) requires $600+ per student in travel and registration fees alone. The skills forged on a Stoa debate floor are truly irreplaceable; alumni routinely note that learning to think on their feet and confidently articulate complex themes serves as the ultimate catalyst for success in college, graduate school, and future careers. In fact, Stoa’s national tournament platform opens incredible doors, collectively offering upwards of $7.3 million in college scholarship opportunities to top performers. More importantly, it equips our scholars with the real-world tools and personal confidence necessary to rightly divide truth, speak boldly, and clearly share the good news with a world in need.
