Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all cancers. It has no symptoms in early stages (and late stage symptoms are vague and include stomach pain and indigestion), and most often is stage IV when it is discovered. The average stage IV patient will love one year after diagnosis (5 year survival rate is 2.9%). It is an extremely hard cancer to research, due to the time spent fundraising and how quickly patients die. Researchers spend more of their time applying for grants and trying to fundraise than conducting clinical studies. I am asking every person who reads this to do one thing for me. This week skip something- a Starbucks coffee, lunch out, one night of takeout, and instead donate that money to help find a good treatment, and maybe one day a cure, for this awful disease. All money raised will be donated directly to doctors doing pancreatic cancer research
