Update: Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. 💖 🙏🏻 We’re so close to sending Olivia to World Finals!
Olivia’s Odyssey of the Mind team recently took home 1st place🥇and THE Ranatra Fusca Award 🤯 at the North Georgia Regional Competition. This win qualified them to move onto Georgia State Finals where they then took home 1st place once again and the title of State Champions! 🎉!!
We’re beyond PROUD! And HUGE CONGRATULATIONS are in order to Olivia and all of her teammates! ✨🎉 These students have spent months brainstorming, building, practicing, and solving problems with creativity and teamwork — and their hard work truly paid off!
So much so that Olivia’s team has been invited to compete at Odyssey of the Mind World Finals this May at Iowa State University.
It is here that Olivia and her teammates will compete against teams from all over the United States as well as against teams from around the world from countries like South Korea, Germany, China, Japan, Poland, and Spain. (Just to name a few)
An invitation to participate in World Finals is a huge accomplishment and an incredible opportunity. But of course with all good things, it costs money!
There’s a charter bus ticket to pay for 🚌, dorm room and board (yep, she gets to experience living in a dorm and eating in the dining hall 3 meals a day 🍽️), and not to mention, they have to pay to ship their teams handmade sets all the way to Iowa.
Want to know how you can help? Please consider donating to Olivia as she works to fundraise her way to World Finals!
Here’s some more info about Odyssey of the Mind:
Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition, that gives kids the confidence to think for themselves and to create solutions to any challenge.
Teams of students work together to devise original solutions and present them at tournaments, fostering skills such as divergent thinking and risk-taking.
In addition, students learn to develop presentation and time management skills, the ability to work within a budget, as well as the ability to overcome obstacles — all without relying on outside assistance.
Participants choose from various problems that require innovative solutions, often involving performance, design, or engineering.
Art & cultural studies are also incorporated, creating a well-rounded program that has impacted lives for over 40 years.
Thank you in advance for helping Olivia achieve her goal of representing her home state of Georgia on the world stage.
Your donation will truly make a difference in helping Olivia make it to World Finals! 💕
