Derrick (DJ) has decided to pursue his Advanced EMT (AEMT) certification as part of his path toward becoming a firefighter. This is something he’s been thinking about for quite some time, and he’s now decided to take the next step toward making it a reality. Our family is really excited to support him as he works toward a career serving and protecting our community.
Derrick is currently in the process of registering for classes that begin in September. To secure his spot, he needs to pay an $800 registration fee as soon as possible. Class spots fill quickly, and we’re hoping to raise those funds right away so he doesn’t miss the opportunity to enroll.
To complete the AEMT pathway, Derrick will first need to complete EMT Basic training over the next 3–4 months before moving on to approximately 3 additional months of Advanced EMT (AEMT) schooling. Between tuition, registration fees, books, testing fees, required equipment, uniforms, and other school-related expenses, we are hoping to raise around $5,000 to help cover the cost of the program.
Derrick will continue working full time while attending school, but the upfront expenses are difficult for us to manage on our own.
We’re creating this fundraiser simply to ask for a little help from family and friends who may want to support him during this journey. Any amount helps and will go directly toward tuition, class materials, registration costs, and other required expenses related to his training.
