Recent extreme flooding in Washington state destroyed my granddaughter and her finance’s food, furniture, and sources of income. We are raising $5,000 to help them replace basic necessities and cover immediate living expenses as they work to rebuild their lives.

Help My Granddaughter Recover After Devastating Washington State Flooding

We are raising $5,000 to help my granddaughter, and her fiancé, recover after the recent flooding in Centralia, Washington upended their lives. They woke up last week to discover over three inches of water covering the floor of the entire house, destroying the food in her home (due to malfunctioning refrigerator and freezer from standing in water) and ruining nearly all of her furniture, including two nightstands, bed frame, dresser, entertainment center, desk, lower kitchen cabinets, couch, armoire, and two electric heaters, leaving her without basic necessities and a livable space.

The flooding also caused them both to lose income. Damage and closures made it impossible for them to work, cutting off the financial support they depend on to survive and begin rebuilding. My granddaughter owns her own housekeeping business and has had to cancel all her clients for the foreseeable future in order to clean up her own flood damaged home, causing not only hardship to her, but inconvenience to her clients. With no income and so many essentials gone, they are facing an overwhelming situation through no fault of their own.

The funds raised will go directly toward replacing food, basic furniture, and essential household items, as well as helping cover immediate living expenses while they work to get back on their feet.

Th picture of their flooded neighborhood came from the local newspaper. Their home is in the lower right portion of the photo. Her green car is located at the front door of the home.

Any donation—no matter the amount—will make a real difference. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Your kindness, support, and generosity mean more than words during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for helping them rebuild and move forward.
