I am asking for help taking care of legal fees for my son, Johntae Collier.
Our justice system has tragically failed him. Wrongfully accused and convicted. John's entire life has been stripped and taken from him before its really even begun. I will not negate the fact a life was lost and our deepest sympathies go out to the victim's loved ones. But John is not a murderer; to convict and sentence him as such is another life lost. This is not justice, but is a display of how grossly our "justice system" can discriminate and fail the very people its meant to protect. Not only has it failed my son but wrongfully convicting someone does not bring justice for the victim and their loved ones either.
We are appealing this conviction in order to seek justice for my son. Due to the manipulation of laws, evidence and bigotry of this small towns system.
