On top of the hunger, Hani has developed severe pneumonia, making it difficult for him to breathe, and his hemoglobin level has plummeted to 6.5, leaving his immune system severely weakened.
I am writing to you with a broken heart from inside the hospital. I am a mother of six children, and their father is mentally ill and unable to support us or work. We live in a dilapidated tent without stable shelter or a breadwinner. Today, I stand helpless before my infant son as he suffers. I cannot afford his lung medication or formula, nor can I feed my other children. We have launched this campaign to appeal to every compassionate person to stand with us in this ordeal.
