Hello friends and theater lovers!
UnSex Me Here Players is excited to announce our next project, our Staged Reading of Macbett - a hilarious absurdist retelling of Shakespeare's tragedy featuring a stellar all female, transgender, and nonbinary cast and creative team. The reading will take place Saturday September 26th at 7 pm at the beautiful Victory Theatre in Burbank. Think 'The Bard meets Monty Python ' or 'The Muppets take Scottland'. It is sure to be both funny and thought provoking.
This event is free to attend. However, we ask if you are able that you donate to our spot-fund for priority seating tickets- $20 for one or $35 for two. Every contribution helps, no matter the size! This company is entirely sustained by private donors and crowd funding so we literally can't do this without you.
For those who are unfamiliar, we are a fledgling new company in the Los Angeles area consisting entirely of female, transgender, and non-binary actors and directors with a focus on Shakespeare, other Classics, and retellings of Classics. This will be our third staged reading following our initial reading of Hamlet with 10 different actors rotating through the title role last summer at the Victory, and our reading of Othello at the EBell of Los Angeles last spring.
We hope to grow and expand obtaining official nonprofit status, offering free classes and workshops, outreach to underserved and minority community, and adding fully staged productions while continuing to serve the needs of female, transgender, and nonbinary theater artists in our LA community.
