Hi there ! My name is Kyana. And I want to share a story about a beautiful woman that has touched and helped so many people’s lives including my own. Her name is Joy, but we all call her Mama Joy. Because that’s what she aims to bring every day to anyone that she meets. She has been a loving and kind customer at my job at Pete’s Blue Chip for as long as I can remember. More importantly she has become like family to myself and my family. She works at Costco and she is 86. She is the first customer I see every morning like clockwork. Mama Joy walks in and helps set up the jam and sugar caddy’s we put out on the tables but not before she gives ya a big hug and a “ how ya doing baby?” She loves her neighborhood and she loves to people watch so when she eats if she see’s you with your pet she laughs and giggles and sometimes as early as the next day she will show up with toy for your pup or cat just to put a smile on your face and your pets. She is such a kind and caring woman. And she loves to help as well. She makes these little treats called Joystix every year around time May when her job fundraises for the Children’s Hospital and she makes and sells these little delightful marshmallow concoctions (Joystix) and raises over a thousand dollars to donate to the fundraising! She truly goes out of her way to really be there for not only her community but those she loves!!
Now Mama joy needs the communities help. She hurt her arm a few months back and she has been in extreme pain and has had to take off work. She needs to get this Platelet-Rich- Plasma injection done so it can help heal her torn ligaments, however the cost is around $800 dollars. And they said this would be the best way to heal her without accosting her more time and more pain. I also have to mention that she has been out of work for the past two months and until her disability kicks in and her workers comp kicks in she is really going to need some help getting by. I am asking to help her with $5000.00 dollars just to make sure that all her living situation and her bills can be taken care of until she gets the help she needs from disability and the workers comp. I know it may seem like a lot but most of us know due to injury or whatever may come our way disability and workers comp can take more time than we can expect but she is 86 and she can’t work a side job or hustle with all the pain she is in so I am asking for the community to come together and help this beautiful woman that has helped so many in her time. I just want to make sure that all she needs during this time is taken care for her with the help of all of you!!
I know people may ask why are you doing this but it's the heart that God blessed me with to help my neighbor especially for the woman who has done so much for me in the time that I have known her I pray that this reaches all of you who can just share a little extra and I know im asking for a lot but I am also doing this without her knowing so that I can surprise her with an outpouring of love and help just like she has done for so many over the years. So that next time when you go to Costco and you can see Mama Joy in her work element and her smile that can bring anyone who is having a bad day some Joy you can smile and know that u helped her.
