My beautiful little girl is 4. She's disabled, very medically complex. She has 4q deletions, believed to have Rett syndrome(waiting on genetic rerun), severe autism, focal epilepsy, global developmental delay, cortical visual impairing, hearing loss, she’s non verbal, non ambulatory. I can go on but the diagnosis’s do not define her or why we’re here. She is a person & she matters. The smiles, the personality underneath it all is sassy as can be, the fight she has within her, the belly laughs, shes made me appreciate the little things in life. So often we think we’re teaching them, she’s teaching me.
Now I’ve attempted this numerous times and deleted it because the feelings I feel having to ask strangers for help makes me feel embarrassed but I’ll do anything for her and she has medical needs that financial are impossible for me to meet on my own.
We’re waiting on a wheelchair, repositioning chair, special safe bed, bath seat, and special car seat. They’re not fully covered. So until I raise funds we cannot finish the process. Which means she can’t get her needs met, that is just sad but reality.
Many think bc they NEED things they’re covered. I’m here to tell you that is the farthest from the truth.
Now since I’m disabled myself and only receive 1000$ a month and it’s just me plus her and her siblings. And I’m the one caring for her 24/7 and by caring for her I don’t mean being a mom. I mean gtube changes. Feeding tube feeds every 2 hours, seizure monitoring, controlling, rescue meds, crushing, mixing, giving meds, ordering supplies, fighting insurance, 20 different phone calls a day for her, Basically I’m an unpaid professional in keeping her alive.
She does qualify for skilled nursing it’s just that once again “qualified” or a “need” and staffed are a huge issue here. Everywhere. For numerous families across the world, Pennsylvania especially because of a nursing shortage. So we do it all because we have to.
Anything you can donate even if it’s 5$ will be saved towards her medical needs/supplies.
She’s barely able to fit into her stroller so we’re running out of time and I won’t be able to get her anywhere without a wheelchair to put her in, I certainly can’t carry her.
So I’m asking you to please find it in your heart, look outside the diagnosis’s and see my strong little girl who deserves to live her best life possible, we know the world is not very inclusive to meet disabled people’s needs but can you help make Dollygraces world more accommodating by donating💞🎀Help her live her best life. 💕💪🏻🎀💞
