As most of you know, my car was repossessed last week despite having a brand new payment arrangement in place. The same thing occurred in March. This ultimately caused me to lose my job and the place I was set to move into Friday.
Originally they wanted $1178 up front ASAP to release it from the tow lot. I called this morning on the off chance that I still had any ability to negotiate left. I DID!
They agreed to split the total in two and spread out the dates it was due. If I can give them $589.43 this Thursday 7/31 and the same amount on Monday 8/11 it is safe!!
While TARC is kind of an option, it would add a 1.5 hr commute onto my 9 hour office day. I did that for the last year and it destroyed my mental health.
I was also about $4k from paying this $15k car off. Letting it go now would mean a loss of everything I put into it over 3 years.
I already have two interviews set for recruiter roles here this week and just got moved to the 2nd interview with one company. I expect to schedule several more given my application volume so far. I will definitely have the second half on 8/11 in 3 weeks on my own.
But I am tapped dry right now to get the first one made. I have a small partial check coming 8/1, but it would be too late for this and wouldn’t cover it.
I do not mind saying I am desperate to keep this vehicle. I have over $10k in it already, its so close to being paid off and I cannot live and work in this city in my field without that meaning 13 hr days 5x a week without it.
I have received incredible support since moving home 2 months ago and I hate being here asking for more. But I have a shot at turning this around and putting things back the way they were before last week now.
