Hey y’all! My name is Sarah Sherwood and I am your Miss Southwest Earth 2023, an official delegate competing for Miss Earth USA this December. This is my campaign page for the Miss USA Earth fundraiser for “Beauties for a Cause.”
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME:
I am a college student at the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. I’ve also graduated with an AA in Psychology and AS in Health science at Austin Community College. With my education I plan to work in local government, as local government is the most direct way to positively impact the community.
Something I’m quite proud of is starting my modeling career. I’ve been quite successful, staring in commercials, TV shows, runways, and even being published in the El Paso Airport. My next goal is to walk NYFW.
On my free time you can catch me playing a mean game of Mario Kart online, hiking, or playing a corn hole tournament.
I’ve recently been attending local community events in my area, meeting various local organizations and getting involved with environmental initiatives.
It’s often thought that our voices don’t matter in our community and government, but, as I discovered, it’s easier than we think. When we become civically engaged in our community, we gain the confidence and connections we need to impact issues and causes we believe in. Civic engagement is key for citizens to truly make an impact, and as Miss Southwest my goal is to demonstrate and participate in the multitude of ways of how that is possible.
WHAT IS BEAUTIES FOR A CAUSE:
Beauties for a cause is an empowering organization aimed to enhance women’s journeys through advocacy, education, and recognition. They focus on environmental issues, mental health, and provide scholarships, uplifting women and providing proper resources to them to start their own community engagement projects.
If you want to show your support for my pageant journey, donating to this fundraiser will help immensely. As a contestant I must raise a minimum of $350, and any amount given is greatly appreciated.

Pageantry is the last thing I thought I would ever do, but yet it’s the thing I need the most for myself. It has given me an unimaginable boost of self confidence and has aided me in my self actualization journey. I’m beyond grateful to have this opportunity to compete in nationals, and I hope you can see the same potential that I see in myself.
