My name is Shanice and I am reaching out with a heavy heart. My father was recently in a tragic accident. While renovating his new home, a gas leak went undetected. When he went to light the water heater, the house exploded. He survived, but is now in critical care at the University of Colorado Burn Center with 24% of his body burned. He does not yet have a release date.
I am a single mother and unfortunately do not have the financials means to travel at this magnitude with my son. My family is spread across three states- Utah, New Mexican and Colorado and I am trying to find a way to be with them and most importantly, to be by my fathers side during this difficult time.
I rarely ask for help, but this is one of those moments in life where I can’t do it alone. Any support you can give would help me cover travel expenses for my son and I, and allow us to spend time with my dad as he fights to heal. Even the smallest contribution would make a difference, and if you cannot give, I would be so grateful if you could share this with others.
