Hi, my name is Paris, and I’m rebuilding my life with my little dog, Pepe, after escaping an abusive situation.
For the past year and a half, I worked for — and was financially dependent on — the man who became my abuser. Leaving meant losing both my income and my housing overnight. I’ve since taken legal steps to protect myself and prevent any further harm, but starting over safely comes with urgent expenses I was not prepared for.
At one point, I was beaten, stranded, and left with no safe option but to sleep in my car alone in Florida. My friends were hours away, and my family was across the country. I felt scared, isolated, and completely unsure of what the next day would look like, but I knew I had to choose safety and leave.
So many people have wondered about my absence from social media, my work, my passions, and the parts of myself I used to share so freely. The truth is, I have been trying to survive something I never expected to experience. I’ve reached out to people late at night asking for help, and it has been painful to realize how hard it can be to find support when you are truly in crisis. Still, I’m choosing to keep going, rebuild, and ask for help honestly.
Pepe, my 2-year-old dog, has been with me through all of this. Keeping him safe, fed, and cared for is one of my biggest priorities while I rebuild.
This fundraiser will help me cover immediate essentials: safe lodging, relocation costs, rent deposits, food, hygiene items, transportation, and Pepe’s food and basic supplies. I’m doing everything I can to stabilize, work again, and create a safe foundation for both of us.
