**UPDATE: Since the Israeli occupation bombed and closed the Rafah crossing and began their invasion last week, no humanitarian aid has entered the strip and no evacuation is currently possible. We will still fundraise for Ghalia’s family to evacuate for when then border reopens. Right now, the family urgently needs funds for food, water, and other basic essentials that have skyrocketed in price since the border closure. Please consider donating and sharing this link.**
Hello, my name is Sarah Hartzell. I am in the US and am hosting this fundraiser for Ghalia Al-Naq‘s family to escape Gaza.
Before October 7th, Ghalia’s family lived humbly in Khan Younis. Due to several injuries, her husband, Abdullah, was not able to hold a stable job. He decided to go to Greece in order to make a decent life for his wife and children, Aseel, Ghazal, and Ahmed. His family stayed in Gaza.
Sadly, the “Israeli” occupation started carpet bombing Gaza in October 2023, and Abdullah’s wife and children have been displaced 5 times. Their home was destroyed.
Abdullah’s brother, Rami, is a double amputee from the war in 2014. Rami is his wife, Buthiana, and his children, Saif, Asif, Rafif, Badr, Abdullah, and Rammah. Their home has been destroyed, too. He and his family are displaced alongside Ghalia and the children.
Like any one of us, this family urgently wishes to find safety and stability.
Here is the cost breakdown:
Evacuation fees- $37,500
Transportation- $2,500
Survival until evacuation- $5,000
Total- $45,000
