I’m Katherine, and I’m starting this fundraiser for myself as I try to get back on my feet after some of the hardest months of my life. I’ve been out of work for a few months while working with a psychiatrist on medication management for depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and possibly BPD. I went out on FMLA and truly did not expect to be away from work for this long. During that process, medication changes led to non-suicidal self-harm, which was incredibly scary and overwhelming. Thankfully, after trying new medications, I’m doing okay now and I’m no longer self-harming. On top of my mental health struggles, I also had to leave a toxic relationship. I applied for a domestic abuse loan through my 401k, but it still isn’t enough to help me catch up on everything.
Right now, I’m months behind on rent, two payments behind on my car note, and I have a $300 electric bill due at the end of the month after pushing it back once already. I also have medical bills I’ve been avoiding, and I need help continuing treatment with a specialized therapist for OCD and trauma. I’m finally back at work, but I won’t receive a paycheck for two more weeks, and I’m doing everything I can to hold things together until then. Your support would help me cover rent, utilities, medical bills, car payments, and insurance so I can keep getting to work and start rebuilding stability. If you’re able to help, please consider donating or sharing my fundraiser. Any kindness and support would mean the world to me right now. Thank you for reading my story.
