Hello, I'm Terence Nyamazana from Zimbabwe, now living in Mozambique. Born with a congenital deformity in my left leg, I've faced many challenges, but I've always believed that disability is not inability. I'm humbled to be selected for kanthari's Class of 2027, a 12-month impact leadership program in India that will help me grow skills to better serve persons with disabilities in my community.
My Journey So Far
Growing up in a remote village, access to support was limited, yet my parents did their best to help me attend regular schools where I learned alongside others. I earned a Diploma in Medical Office Assistance, joined the Red Cross for first-aid training, and even learned to drive an automatic car with help from my support system. In 2015, after facing job discrimination, like a public agency marking my file as "failed" without an interview, I humbly started my organization to advocate for people like me, registering it legally and assisting 150 beneficiaries with assistive devices.
My Dream
I dream of a Disability Empowerment Hub that provides mobility aids, partners with physiotherapists for children, and offers vocational training in skills like carpentry, leatherwork, and agribusiness. I hope to change mindsets, end street begging through economic empowerment, and push for policies that include us in decision-making. In five years, with quiet effort, I pray persons with disabilities can sustain their families and live with dignity.
A Humble Request for Help
kanthari kindly covers my training, travel, board, and lodging, but I need $2,000 for personal costs to join without worry. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world and let me focus on learning to give back more.

How You Can Help
Even $25 toward medical costs or $100 for my visa would ease my path greatly.

Thank you from my heart for considering my plea. Together, we can show that "Nothing About Us Without Us."
