My brother Peyton is 21. He's been living on his own in Nevada since he was 16, and not by choice. I've tried to help him as much as I can through these years, but there's only so much I can do and even his friends as well. He's tough, hardworking(7 days a week), and a gentle soul. He's too humble and stubborn to ask for help, which brings me here.
A few days ago on Tuesday the 24th of February 2026, Peyton was riding his motorcycle to work when a car almost ran into him. Instead of braking, his quick response was to try and get out of the way. This led him to hit a curb and run into a light pole. He was wearing his helmet and thankfully his head was spared. According to medical professionals, he essentially broke his entire left-side of his body, including shattering his entire hip. Thankfully, he's alive which is the most important thing anyone would want. He's been going through multiple surgeries and is expected to have a 6-12 month recovery.
He does not have health insurance, however, he ended up qualifying for medicaid in his situation and supposedly his medical bills should be covered. What I am asking is for $8,000 as a guestimate on paying for his rent for 6 months. He will also need a used vehicle at some point(not a motorcycle), so if by some chance there's a greater amount of donations, that money would go towards funding that.
Lastly, being a little more open here, he's a good kid and I love him to pieces of course, he's my brother. We lost our father when he was 16 and this accident is straining heavy on his mental health. His first worries were helping his friend split the rent. I also just want to reiterate that I'm looking for help so that he can pay rent. I live in a different state(New York) than he does(Nevada) and it's not feasible for him to travel here unfortunately. At least not for several months.
Thank you for taking your time to read this and I hope my little brother gets the help he needs. And thank you for your generosity if you choose to help him.
