This is my view as her mom. I’m really not sure when her pain became so unbearable, but that is the reality we face. Fighting a battle against an invisible force trying to take your child from you. Reaching out for help from professionals, who have price tags attached to their wisdom that must be meant only for the children of wealthy families. Watching her disappear, unable to stop or change the outcome.
This is the hopelessness of parenting a child with a mental illness, general lack of resources and affordability, along with the stigma and alienation.
We hope with the funds raised to be able to access programs and services, to bring Evelynn back to us. For healing and growth to take place within her and when pain comes along, as it always does, she is capable of bearing it and the mental illness doesn’t win.
