In the wake of the tragedy in Orlando, we at The Sweat Life - including me, Aly Teich - decided to figure out a way for the health and fitness community in NYC to come together to help the victims and their families.
That's how *GunsAgainstGunViolence was born.
The health and fitness community in NYC is full of so many strong voices (and bodies), not to mention love for the LGBT community.
In collaboration with photographer Chris Fanning, we gathered over 200 studio owners, trainers, health practitioners & nutritionists at Bandier Flatiron.
At the photoshoot, everyone posed with their "guns" out to express their sympathy for the victims - and to take a stand against gun violence.
Some of the biggest names from the NYC fitness scene participated, including Cyc Fitness, Barry's Bootcamp, Flywheel and The Fhitting Room.
Designer Steve Madden, former NFL fullback Tony Richardson, celebrity stylist/TV personality Stacy London, and Amy Freeze of ABC News also struck a pose!
We're proud to be able to share the *GunsAgainstGunViolence message with our friends and followers, but we need your help in raising money for the OneOrlando Fund. The fund was recently established by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer to help the victims’ recovery.
Please donate to the OneOrlando Fund today by dropping a token! And be sure to share your donation - together, we can make a bigger impact than we ever could alone.
