About SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover

SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover of the United States Marine Corps, 31, of Utah, was killed in action in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

Taylor joined the Marine Corps on September 13, 2010, and graduated from MCRD San Diego Boot Camp on December 10, 2010. Throughout the course of his military career, Taylor was deployed overseas 5 times. Taylor was presented with many awards and honors over his tenure, had many duty stations, and attended each with the utmost honor and respect. Taylor’s drive and passion for the Marine Corps stemmed from his embedded family roots and desire to train his men to be the best that they could be.

Our Mission

We will honor SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover, all 13 service men and women killed in Kabul on August 26, 2021, and all our service men and women. We will uphold the values of honor, courage, and commitment in all our endeavors and through every event and fundraiser we host under the SSGT Darin Taylor Hoover Memorial. Our initial Mission will be to provide a scholarship fund that will be awarded to students who portray these values in their educational pursuits and daily lives.  We also plan to expand our philanthropic efforts beyond just the scholarship fund.
