Friends, family, followers, etc.
I have been trying to come up with the right words. Which for me, usually isn't so hard, I know. That's because I tend to exist on a metaphorical plane, keeping my head above tumultuous reality with the buoyancy of hope and light delusions.
Reality has unfortunately become too real. My nightmares have become too real.
The nightmares pounded on my front door and when I opened up, reality punched me right in the gut.
As many of you know, fighting for my health already had me very vulnerable. I've lost physical and mental abilities, job opportunities, and life aspirations. I was crushed.
Then I lose a bit of autonomy every time I get assistance from another government/social agency. But those are just my personal struggles, ones I have some control over.
I really lost a lot when my partner was arrested for false charges that have nothing to do with me but destroyed my reputation and community standing anyway. I lost my mind, I lost respect and trust. I lost privacy and dignity. I lost my temper and my cool. I lost a lot of hope.
Maybe you lose a bit of pride when you have to admit you are really struggling and need help, and can't just make jokes about it anymore...
but I really don't have much more to lose.
With that: I need some serious help.
My ex is moving away, leaving the home we used to share. I have been staying with my best friend since October 1st. The end of our relationship has been terribly ugly and unsafe for us both.
I am able to move back into my home by December.
I am so excited for me and my kids to have our home. To have space for healing, enjoying each other and finding peace. (And to be able to build SquishThrone 2023, and set up my creation studio!)
I have a HUD voucher and other supports, that unfortunately wont kick in until January.
Leaving me with a hefty amount to cover in order to move back in and live for December. Roughly $3300. I have come up with roughly a quarter of this.
I am still disabled, and I am still working as much and hard as I can to take care and provide for myself and the kiddos.Which without the housing stability, has been especially difficult. Much of what I do to manage my daily symptoms, and flare ups, are dependent on home routines, systems and comfort accommodations.
It's my birthday on the 18th (and Penelope's on the 19th!) and I am needing and wanting to make some purchases that will help support mine and my children's health, well-being and joy.
Because of this, I do have an Amazon Registry set up if anyone would like to send a birthday and/or home warming gift to us. Similar items not from the registry are also great.
I feel so close to finally making the new start that I was trying to after my divorce. The chance for a new start that I lost due to the pandemic, moving in with my ex, and the onset of my chronic illness and pain.
I miss being a part of my community. I miss being able to work, volunteer, being involved in theatre, doing more than just surviving.
I know so many people are out there rooting for me from the sidelines. Your kindness and support mean the world to me.
I can't wait to see you all on the other side of this.
