Help Abi Walk Again and Relieve Her Pain
This is Abi, my youngest daughter. She has lived with widespread pain for most of her life and was officially diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) at 18, along with several related conditions.
Abi’s journey has been incredibly challenging. Since 2019, she has undergone five ankle surgeries due to complications and reinjuries. Unfortunately, her first surgeon caused significant damage, leaving her unable to walk without assistance. A new specialist has recommended additional surgeries to repair the damage and give her a chance at walking independently again.
Before these health challenges, Abi loved to bake and even owned her own bakery, pouring her heart into her passion. But now, she finds it difficult to stand for long periods of time due to the pain and instability in her ankles. She also struggles to use her hands because of severe carpal tunnel syndrome, which requires surgery as soon as possible.
In 2024 alone, Abi has had one minor procedure, two major surgeries, and now faces months of physical therapy at $150 per session. She also needs evaluations for her hips and knees, additional surgeries, and regular visits to her specialist, who is three hours away.
Our family is doing everything we can, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Medical bills, physical therapy, travel costs, and a high insurance deductible have left us struggling to keep up. We even lost our car last month trying to prioritize Abi’s care and have been renting or borrowing vehicles to get her to appointments.
Abi didn’t ask for this battle, and we don’t want her drowning in debt because of her health. We’re reaching out to ask for your help. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference in helping Abi walk again, regain her strength, and hopefully return to doing what she loves.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can give Abi the chance to live the life she deserves.
