Hello, we are Lance and Shalisha Loyd, passionate advocates for high-quality early childhood education in Shasta County. We are excited to embark on a new journey: the purchase of a local preschool in Redding, CA, that will allow us to continue our mission of supporting children, families, and early childhood educators in our community.
For 8 years, we successfully owned and operated a nationally accredited family childcare out of our home, partnering with Head Start and Quality Counts North State. Our program thrived, thanks to the love and dedication we poured into creating a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment. Now, we’re ready to take the next step.
Why This Preschool Matters
Our dream is to expand our reach and continue improving the quality of care in Redding and the surrounding areas. By purchasing this preschool, we aim to achieve the following:
- Enhance early education through Play! : Erik Erikson defines play as, "A situation in which a child can work through experiences by creating model situations and master reality through planning and experimentation." We are committed to providing top-tier care and educational opportunities that foster lifelong learning for the children in our community. The best way for this age group to learn is through Creativity and Fun! Even as adults we learn best when we play.
- Support families and staff: We understand the challenges families and educators face, and we are dedicated to creating a space that promotes foundational well-being for both.
- Build a lasting impact: This preschool will not only be a place for growth and learning for children today but a legacy of high-quality care for generations to come.
-Industry Impact: This school will become the leading example and driving force for developing a program standard that other centers can follow and build upon. We aim not to compete in the market but rather to support the industry as a whole driving collective improvement in quality care.
Our Goal
To make this vision a reality, we are looking to you, our community, to join us in raising $250,000 or more for a down payment towards the preschool. With your support, we can secure the property and begin investing in the future of Shasta County’s children and families.
