Hi my name is Olivia and I'm in desperate need of help. I live in Texas, a hot spot for covid that our elected officials failed to prepare our schools for another covid year of online learning. my parents who are very elderly and ill and who's doctor told my sister that if covid gets into our home my parents wouldn't just get sick. They will die! My sister and I called, emailed, researched, begged and pleaded and at the end of trying to make the best decision for everyone.. We enrolled my 2nd grader at k-12 Academy where the monthly tuition fee is $532.00 because it was my only option. It's time to pay tuition and we can't do it. We just got our food stamp benefits denied along with my request for social security benefits because im disabled.
My parents are very ill. My sister and I are very careful with what they hear because if they knew how truly horrible their heart disease and kidney disease was they would be so overwhelmed with fear and anxiety and would most likely both suffer from another stroke. My father was supposed to go 3 years ago so he doesn't know he's living on borrowed time.
After we realized that theres no way we can pay the tuition, my sons Dad went to the school in our district and looked around and then explained to me and my sister that there were plastic partitions around the desks and everyone was wearing a mask.. we decided to take Sebastian out of online school and have him go back to his regular school and we would just step up on hand washing and such. Then almost the next day it was reported that there were a few covid cases at the school and in every school. Almost 2,500 children with covid. I'm not sure if that is just in the city I live in or the entire state. So now we can't send my son back to regular school. Please help us to raise this tuition money so that we can keep my parents with us for as long as possible. I'm not ready to let them go. I haven't learned enough and I would really love to get to know my mom and dad as individuals rather than the stars of their daily comedy show called "We've been married for 54 years and you still don't know where your underwear are." Please help my family during these scary times. I'm going to try to see if I can panhandle tomorrow but that's quite dangerous in this city.
