Our world was turned upside down on April 9th, 2026, when our dear Mother, Barbara "Babs" Salley, was involved in a devastating, no-fault car accident. The impact was catastrophic, leaving Babs with a brain bleed, a broken neck, a broken elbow, and multiple fractured ribs. Beyond the physical injuries, she is now battling short-term memory loss and the loss of her vehicle.
This tragedy comes at an already impossible time. Babs’s husband, Richard Salley, has been in and out of the hospital for four years following multiple major surgeries and is still in the middle of his own recovery. Now, they are facing a massive, unexpected financial burden that no family should have to carry alone.
Due to the rising costs of the rehabilitation center and limited health coverage, the facility began charging them a daily fee to stay. While she was not supposed to be released until she could walk on her own, the mounting debt has forced them to make the difficult decision to bring her home early and continue therapy there.
