Denise has been fighting Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer for few years now. She has small tumors in her lungs and has been on a few different types of chemo. A PET scan over the summer indicated the cancer has spread to a new lymph node and a spot on her bone.
She was then switched to a different chemo therapy. This new treatment causes more debilitating side effects than previous treatments. She has been unable to work due to the side effects. She is on disability from her job but is trying to make ends meet.
Her chemotherapy is about every 8 days and it takes a toll in the first few days after the treatment.
Denise has a limited support system where she lives and most often has difficulty cooking and going to the store. She is pressing through when she can just to take care of what she needs.
She is awaiting PET scan results to see if her current treatment is working. The doctors tell her they have other options just in case.
Denise is our dear friend and we want to do what we can to make her life easier by lifting the financial burden.

Denise saw her doctor at The City of Hope yesterday to discuss a plan of care. The results were that she got a blood transfusion, was put on oxygen and got a chest scan to see how her lungs since her tube was no longer draining fluid.
The chest scan showed fluid in her left lung. She was referred back to the hospital this evening where she will undergo thoracic surgery to remove the fluid from her left lung. That surgery will be done tonight or tomorrow morning.
Denise needs your financial support to help with medical expenses and the costs that her family has endured.

Denise has been in the hospital in California since last Friday. She developed pulmonary edema (fluid on her lungs) after receiving chemotherapy.
She has a chest tube in draining off fluid. The plan is for her to be hospitalized until this Friday or so.
Denise’s mother and son are with her. They hope and have a plan in place to get her back home, eventually, to North Carolina for the rest of her care.

Denise will complete 5 days of brain radiation. Next Thursday she will start 5 days of radiation to her kidney before starting chemotherapy.
She is is good spirits. Her family is with her.
Further plans are for her to move from California back to her family home in North Carolina.
Her team is in the process of finding doctors to coordinate treatment when she moves back home.

Denise’s cancer has spread and she is now on Day 2 of brain radiation therapy. The plan is to do 5 treatments then start chemotherapy next Thursday.

Denise is now has to wait to start the new chemotherapy to let her body clear the medications she was on previously.
She had an echocardiogram this week to assure her heart was well enough for the new chemotherapy. Her new treatment is to start next week.
She is hopeful and in good spirits. She finds her peaceful place at the beach when she is able.
Denise needs your financial support to help cover everyday and medical expenses.
