A few weeks ago, I found myself in the hospital, overwhelmed by symptoms I couldn't understand. After countless tests and a full kidney biopsy, I received the terrifying diagnosis of Class SLE Stage 4 Lupus Nephritis. It was a lot to take in, and the uncertainty left me feeling vulnerable and scared. Through it all, I've been fortunate to have the unwavering support of my family. Taylor has rarely left my side, and my sister even flew in from Florida to be with us. Their presence has been a comforting light during this challenging time.
Despite the diagnosis, my doctor gave us the green light to go ahead with our trip to Disney World in 30 days. It's something we’ve been looking forward to for so long, and having that to focus on has given me a sense of normalcy and hope. However, the medical expenses have been mounting, and the financial strain is something we couldn't have anticipated. My mother-in-law and sisters have been incredible, doing everything they can to help, but I know it's not easy on anyone involved.
Being in Maryville, where community means everything, has taught me the value of leaning on others in moments like these. It's humbling to ask, but any help to ease these unexpected expenses would mean the world to us.
