Hello Everyone! My name is Ayanna and I am raising money for the Miss America Foundation as a part of the Miss America competition.
One of the biggest driving forces for the Miss America Organization is their ability to equip young women for their careers- this is made possible through scholarship opportunites. These scholarships can be earned on a national level, state level, and even within our local communities.
I grew up in Southwest Kansas, a rural area of the state, being shown that a lack of resources can impact the dreamers and go-getters of our world, but it shouldn't inhibit them. I have lived with food insecurity, incarcerated parents, impacts of addiction, homelessness, and an overall deficit of consistency- I grew up fast. It was through this past that I learned how necessary community and outside resources can be. This is where the Miss America Organization has been able to "bridge the gap" for women like myself. Graduate school is now within reach because of these scholarships, and I hope to offer this same support to those who are seeking and willing to work for it.
Thank you for your support and encouragement during this process- I hope I can count on you to help with this mission!
