Hi y'all. My name is Sheri. I adopted a young female beagle mix from SE KY a week ago. Honey is as Sweet as her name. She was rescued by a kind-hearted person in October after she had been dumped in a very rural remote area. She was in really bad condition when they found her. They nursed her back to health but were unable to keep her. Honey would have to go to the county dog pound if no one wanted her. All the rescues are full and the pound is not a No Kill place. I fell in love with Honey when I saw her pictures and went & got her last Thursday.
I took Honey today for her 1st vet visit. She got vaccinated, tested positive for Lyme which requires a month of Doxycycline and is ~25 days pregnant confirmed by ultrasound & exray. This visit cost $328 which I had to put on my almost maxed out CC.
There are too many unwanted dogs and not enough responsible people to care for them so I have decided with our vet's recommendation to have a Gravid Spay performed on Honey next Wednesday. The estimate for this procedure is >$500. My vet is Orchard Vet in Wilmington, Ohio if anyone wants to call them for confirmation of this estimate. I could manage a normal spay but this procedure cost will put a huge hurt on my ability to cover my regular expenses.
I'm asking all you good dog loving folks out there to help me help Honey. Any small amount will be of tremendous support for us. I can give Honey a good life, I only need assistance with this initial medical expense.
