Ruby. She’s only 3 years old and was cruelly chained to a tractor in a field without any shelter and only sporadic food and water for a long time before being rescued. Despite the extreme neglect, Ruby showed a happy spirit and a love of people. While in foster care she was the only pet although she met other dogs, people and a cat and was great with everyone. She was adopted, however the adoption failed due to her inability to live full-time with other pets. Ruby has been in a wonderful foster home for the past couple months where they report that she’s an amazing dog, sweet, loving and nearly perfect in every way except for occasionally becoming anxious or over stimulated and displaying limited coping skills. We feel this needs to be resolved in order for her to be successful in a home.
A great opportunity in the form of a 3 month rehabilitation program has been presented to us. This program has many proven successes and Ruby will learn to live with other animals and gain control of her impulses. Once graduated she’ll be able to cope with stressors, easily coexist with other animals and find a forever home where she can be a happy and relaxed dog. She really deserves that after what she’s been through.
