Help Me Bridge the Gap While I Find Work
This is difficult for me to write because I am usually the person who figures things out, but I’ve reached a point where I need to ask for some help.
Over the past year and a half, I’ve experienced a series of employment disruptions after being laid off from a permanent position. Since then, I’ve continued working whenever opportunities have been available, including contract roles, while consistently searching for stable, long-term employment.
I’ve interviewed with numerous companies, continued applying for positions every week, attended job fairs, reached out to my professional network, and recently expanded my search to include opportunities outside of Michigan. I’m also continuing my education and working toward becoming a CPA.
Unfortunately, my remaining unemployment benefits and savings have now been exhausted before I’ve been able to secure my next permanent position.
I’m a mom, and right now my most immediate concern is keeping our basic household expenses covered while continuing to search for work. I need help with utilities, transportation to get my daughter to and from school, transportation for interviews and employment opportunities, and other essential household expenses.
I’m not expecting anyone to solve everything for me. I’m continuing to apply, interview, network, and pursue every reasonable opportunity available to me. I’m simply trying to create enough breathing room to keep our household stable while I do that.
