HURRICANE RELIEF FOR CARRIACOU!
On July 1st, 2024 the eye of hurricane Beryl hit the beautiful island of Carriacou and Petit Martinique. The surrounding Grenadine islands have all been greatly affected by this CAT 4 hurricane.
These islands are near and dear to my heart as I just finished three years of vet school in Grenada and worked with the animals on the island of Carriacou. One of our dear professors, Dr Wayne Sylvester is from Carriacou and will be going to treat the injured animals as well as help the community where he’s needed! He’s and amazing human being and we need to give him all the help we can get!
CURRENTLY ON THE ISLAND:
- no running water
- no cell phone service
- no electricity
- complete and partial business losses
- complete and partial home losses
There are several fundraisers currently created for the island. The money raised from this fundraiser will be used towards animal care, community clean up, as well as any other needs Dr. Sylvester finds as he’s going through the community. Our original goal is $10,000 but we may need to increase it depending on what he finds throughout this coming weekend.
Please reach out if you have any question and please share if you don’t have the ability to donate.
Thank you so much for your help! Please remember to share, share, share!
