After an emergency care vet apt where we were turned away after checking her out because we couldn't pay for any further testing, and the vet telling us it appears to be a tumor, short of a biopsy, cancer seemed the most likely cause of Nala's rapid decline. After 24hrs of increasing hospice meds, her time to cross the rainbow bridge came and I had to take her in for humane euthanasia. We thank all those who helped us to help her how we could in her time of need. We have a little leftover, and although fully willing to return to those who initially donated, we would like to get her ashes and a potential keepsake for the kids. She was special to each one of the kids, but especially to Lucas, who was recently was diagnosed Autistic Levels 1+2 and thrived on her sensory touches of her fur and touching her nose and paws. He would give her nose boops and forehead kisses and they had a very special bond. She had a different really special bond with me. Not only did we have a special connection where she helped me with my health, but we had a special emotional connection as broken mother's. We healed each others broken hearts. We initially closed the fund when she passed and thank all those who donated yet again from the bottom of our hearts. Until Saturday when the options for cremation close however, we will open a smaller fundraiser in case anyone is wanting or willing to donate towards aftercare. We loved her like family and she will forever be in our hearts. Nala~ THE bestesst service dog and family dog that EVER exsisted. We were so blessed to have her for the years we did but it still seems way too short 💔 😔
