Dear friends, family, and community, I am reaching out for help for my Step Father Sam. In February Sam was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer . This news has completely turned our world upside down, as you can imagine. Sam is one of the most generous/loving/dedicated people I know, and now it’s our turn to show him our support.
At just 62, Sam is facing a daunting, mid/late stage battle. He will be starting Chemotherapy followed by surgery and then chemotherapy again at Sloan Memorial starting May 20th. The coming months will be focused entirely on fighting this disease, which means Sam and Hannah will have to take a leave of absence from their job, creating a significant financial burden.
While we want Sam to focus 100% on recovery, the costs are overwhelming. We are hoping to raise $2500 to help cover:
Deductibles and co-pays not covered by insurance.
Living expenses (rent/mortgage/utilities) during unpaid leave.
Travel costs to and from specialized treatment centers.
[Alternative therapies, medication, or childcare, if needed]
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a massive difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. We will keep you updated on Sam’s journey
Update on Sam:
First, Sam and our family would like to thank everyone who has supported us through donations, prayers, messages, and encouragement. Your kindness has helped carry Sam through one of the most challenging times of his life.
He is happy to share that treatment is progressing well, and he is continuing to fight every day.
While there have been positive signs, chemotherapy has taken a significant toll on his body. The fatigue, side effects, and physical demands of treatment have become increasingly difficult to manage while maintaining his regular day to day.
After careful consideration and discussions with his medical team, he has made the difficult decision with support of family to take a leave of absence from work so he can focus on his health and recovery. Although this is the best decision for his well-being, it also means a loss of income at a time when medical expenses and everyday bills continue to grow.
Because of these unexpected financial challenges, we are raising our fundraising goal to $8,500. The additional funds will help cover treatment-related expenses, household bills, transportation to appointments, and other essential costs while he is unable to work.
Sam, and our family are incredibly grateful for every donation, share, and word of support. Your generosity has made a real difference and has helped ease the burden on both Sam and our family during this journey.
Thank you for standing with Sam as he continues treatment and focus on healing. Your support means more than words can express.
With gratitude and love.
Sam and family.
