At the beginning of my collegiate career, I became aware of the adversities that affect men and women of all socioeconomic backgrounds affected by Domestic Violence.
I was determined besides my abusive environment to continue pursuing my higher education knowing the opportunities it would bring, would later afford me the chance to help others in the same circumstances.
The high cost of education and social support at this time made this dream seem unattainable when I found the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization - an official preliminary of the Miss America Organization.
Becoming a local candidate changed my life - now as our state representative vying for the job of Miss America 2023, I have seen the benefits of our organization from local to national competitions and the impact they have had on the education of the young women involved.
I cannot WAIT to go back to school with over 12K in scholarships earned through Miss America! But would love, for more women to experience this same joy. Please consider donating to our scholarship fund by voting for America's Choice today.
Your donation, like others, before you can change the trajectory of our lives.
All my love and gratitude,
Sylvana Maria González
Miss Connecticut 2022
