Hi, my name is Monica.
In 2023, I moved my family from Pennsylvania to Texas hoping for a fresh start and a better life for my children. I came here believing that if I worked hard, kept pushing, and stayed focused, I could build something better for us.
The last few years have been much harder than I expected.
I’ve faced one challenge after another while trying to keep everything together on my own. Asking for help does not come easily to me, but I’ve reached a point where trying to carry everything alone is creating even more instability for my family.
Right now, our biggest barrier is reliable transportation.
I have four children, and transportation affects nearly every part of our lives — getting to work, taking my children to school, making doctor appointments, buying groceries, and simply being able to handle everyday responsibilities.
Because of the size of my family, a reliable 3-row vehicle with seven or eight seats would give us the space and safety we need. I am not looking for anything luxurious or perfect. I’m looking for something safe, dependable, and affordable that can get my children where they need to go and allow me to continue rebuilding our lives.
Not having dependable transportation has made even basic things feel overwhelming. It also creates another obstacle as I work toward becoming financially stable and providing the life I came to Texas hoping to create for my children.
I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone by sharing this because I don’t want transportation to be the thing that keeps us stuck.
Our Goal: $14,000
The money raised will go toward:
Approximately $10,500 toward a dependable used 3-row SUV, including taxes and title. I’m considering vehicles such as a Chevy Traverse, Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, or something comparable. High mileage is okay — reliability and safety matter more to me than appearance.
Approximately $1,200 toward insurance, registration, title, and related costs.
Approximately $1,000 for any immediate maintenance or safety needs such as tires, brakes, a battery, fluids, or an oil change.
Approximately $800 for gas and basic transportation expenses while we regain stability.
Approximately $500 as a cushion for fundraising fees or unexpected vehicle-related costs.
And we do not have to reach the entire goal for your support to make a difference.
Every donation moves us closer.
$25 can help put gas in the tank.
$75 can help toward a tire or repair.
$150 can help cover insurance.
$300 can help with title, registration, or other vehicle expenses.
More than anything, this fundraiser is about giving my family some breathing room and helping me regain the independence to take care of my children without transportation constantly standing in the way.
I know everyone has their own responsibilities and struggles, so if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to me. One share could put our story in front of someone I could never reach on my own.
