I’m reaching out again to ask for support for 18-year-old Basil and his family, who have been displaced from Gaza and are currently living in Egypt, unable get permanent residency. Because of their status, they are unable to work and have very limited ways to support themselves.

Basil was recently given a partial scholarship to attend college, which is an incredible opportunity. He is hopeful that attending college will eventually help him obtain a work visa and give him the ability to work legally and support his family. For Basil, education represents not only a future for himself, but also a chance to help provide stability for the people he loves.

Unfortunately, they have received very few donations over the past several months, and they are now struggling to cover even their most basic needs. They are having difficulty paying their rent and are running low on essential food, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products.

Please donate whatever you can. Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference to this family during an incredibly difficult time.

I’m sorry, everyone. Please bear with me during this difficult period. I know I’ve been asking for help a lot lately, and I truly feel bad that I’m putting this weight on you, but things are really difficult for me right now.

We’ve run out of some basic household necessities, including drinking water and other everyday essentials. On top of that, my rent was due on the 15th of this month, and I still haven’t been able to cover it.

My landlord has not been very understanding with me, and I’m worried that if I fall further behind, he may threaten to evict me or ask me to leave.

If you’re able to help with anything, even a small amount, or simply share this post, I would truly appreciate it. 🙏

My name is Basil. I’m 18 years old, Palestinian from Gaza, and I’m currently living in Egypt with my family.

After years of studying through war, displacement, uncertainty, and circumstances that made education incredibly difficult, I finally graduated from high school.

For me, graduation was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter. I dreamed of going to university, studying, building a future for myself, and eventually becoming independent and helping others.

Now, I finally have a real opportunity to do that.

I have received a scholarship to study Business Information Systems (BIS) at Badr University in Cairo. Because of the scholarship, my university tuition has been reduced to approximately $1,600 per academic year.

But the scholarship does not cover all of the costs required to actually begin university.

As a Palestinian international student, I have additional international student fees and registration requirements, as well as the cost of reserving my university seat, certifying my documents, and other necessary administrative expenses.

The estimated first-year costs are:

● 🎓 University tuition after the scholarship: $1,600

● 📝 International student fees and official registration procedures: approximately $2,000

● 🪑 University seat reservation: approximately $190

● 📄 Document certification and other administrative expenses: approximately $200–$300

This brings the total first-year cost to approximately $4,000.

And now I am running out of time.

I have only around 8–10 days to complete the registration process and reserve my university seat.

What scares me most is losing this scholarship and this opportunity simply because I cannot make the initial payments in time. The number of scholarships is limited, and I need to complete the registration and payments to secure my place.

That is why I am trying to raise $2,500 as a first step. This would allow me to begin the official registration process, reserve my seat, and then continue working toward covering the remaining costs.

Even $5 can make a difference.

If 100 people each donated $5, that would be $500 closer to my university seat. What may feel like a small donation to one person can mean everything to someone trying to build a future.

I am not asking for a comfortable life.

I am asking for the chance to study.

I have fought so hard to reach this point, and I don’t want money to be the final reason I lose the university opportunity and scholarship I worked so hard to reach.

Honestly, I hesitated a lot before writing these words, but I’ve been going through very difficult circumstances lately, and after turning to allah, I didn’t know where else to turn except to share what I’m going through with you.

A little while ago, my landlord came to the apartment again. I’m only one week late on the rent, but he raised his voice at me and threatened to make us leave if I can’t pay soon. I understand that he has his own responsibilities, and I don’t blame him, but I left that conversation feeling broken and scared.

At the same time, I’m in the middle of my final high school exams. These exams mean everything to me. I’ve worked so hard to reach this point, and I dream of going to university one day. But lately, I can barely focus. Every day brings a new worry, and I feel overwhelmed and afraid. Instead of thinking about my exams, I’m thinking about rent, household expenses, transportation, and how to keep everything from falling apart.

I know everyone has struggles, and I don’t like asking for help. Believe me, if I had another way, I wouldn’t be writing this. But right now, I truly need help.

Any support, even something small, would help us keep a roof over our heads and help me continue my education during one of the most important periods of my life. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing my message or keeping me and my family in your prayers means a lot to me.
