Let me introduce you to my friend Basil. He is 18 years old and is currently displaced in Cairo from the g3nocide being enacted in Gaza to enable his mother to receive Cancer treatment. After an extremely limited time they were left to figure out housing, utility, and medical bills themselves. They also have 4 family members still enduring harsh conditions in Gaza that rely on them to try to find ways to help them survive.
At this time, Basil is unable to work to support his family due to his age and refugee status. There is a severe lack of economic relief assistance in Cairo for people that have been forcibly displaced. For those that have remained in Gaza, the prices of basic needs are astronomical, which means that his family finds themselves reliant on the kindness of others to help. Nobody should be left to decide if they are going to pay their rent, eat, treat their Cancer or help their loved ones survive. Please help them to not have to make these difficult decisions.
Donations will go towards supporting their basic needs for survival and also to send money to his family still in Gaza for food and shelter. Basil is currently enrolling in college on a partial scholarship, hoping to be able to be able to be able to find means to support his family (InshaAllah).
The SpotFund will remain open and available as long as Basil’s family needs help. Please consider donating any amount that you can, as every little bit helps.
