I rescued this healthy ferel cat Stella who badly needs a total toothectomy, cost at my outstanding vet, Erlanger KY Veterinary Hospital is $1368, which neither I nor Libby who has adopted her.wonderfull kitten, Stella, have anything near to spare. She has been suffering long and badly, and we want to get her the procedure so she can be reuinited with her baby at Libby's in comfort & happiness.
FYI Video shows an occasionalnal and rare severe spasm, just to fully illustrate her plight. Symptom is typically 95% of time I am around her just a constant open mouth and lots of drool, and some pain on initial licks of thinned pate I give her. Kitten trying to comfort her is both beautiful and heartbreaking.
HISTORY: She had been eating stray cat food I leave on my porch and behaved sort of friendly but standoffish and seemed to be begging for help, when 0 deg temps approached in January. So I trapped and brought her in. She was clearly badly in need of help with a constantly drooling painful bothersome mouth. Ended up having a beautiful, sweet, very intelligent kitten, and is living comfortably in upstairs loft bedroom separate from my pet cat Sherman, with the cat father Mr. Boy - temporary name I think - who I also rescued, who has just been neutered today (stupid me). She has been to the vet and other than elevated white blood cells, as expected from.thebmouth imfection , is otherwise healthy and disease-free. Been vaccinated, etc. No diseases except maybe genetic plaqueitis (sever allergy to mouth plaque.) I was able to get her to take most of a 17 day course of oral antibiotics, which reduced the symptoms.alot, untill it wore off but for 4-5 days she was no longer in so much acute distress During this brief period, after I would bottle feed kitten KMR to ensure full proper nutrition as supplement to nursing, Sylvia, much to my TOTAL amazement, no longer in constatsnt pain for a spell, started comingover and letting me pet, rub & scratch her, and behaved very affectionately. She either had been a pet before, or wanted to be one and be loved. Went back to cowering when pills were gone. A while later during checkup/vaccinations, I had them give her a long lasting antibiotic shot which helped some for a while but not as much. Vet said teeth are mainly rotted & useless, and needs a total extraction.
PLEASE HELP, even only a little. Together we can bring her relief and a happy life reunited with her daughter, Stella, her new grandmama Libby, and new sister Bruiser Louise, who, oddly, they both look alot like!
Any surplus will go to local Ferel cat rescue & care organizatiions. Estimate of dental work available soon in FB post of this fundraiser. Thanks for your time and any help you gift her with. I will keep all updated.
