Sonia is home and she is getting her medications. We get her checked out again on Wednesday. She is putting weight back on.

Ms Sonia is getting an esophageal feeding tube and more observation. We have gone through almost all of our credit cards and getting a little stressed out. We know we will need more money to pay for the food, and supplies to maintain her feeding tube. Hoping she will have a successful procedure today . Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as she is a stubborn girl and we were hoping to complete the least invasive procedure first with their observation but had to take this step . Big love to the support and love sent this way

Feeling very grateful 🥹 Our Sonia is called “Their little highlighter” at the Horizon Hospital and she is projected to recover (recovery will take months of close monitoring and she will be yellow) BUT one more night of monitoring and they think she could make it without the feeding tube based on her response to the anti nausea medication with the food appetite enhancer , and fluids ❤️ we got to visit her today and she booped my hand for some head scratches and Rusty got to see that her sister is safe and Rusty finally ate once we got home and stopped crying

We’ve been informed she has hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver). Backstory: She hid for a couple days so we didn’t see her and when I searched for her she wouldn’t eat, when I pulled her out from the bed she lost weight. Cats not supposed go more than 24- 48 hr without food and because she a fat cat , she started to digest her own fat (which for cats is stored in liver). We’ve spent $4,145.23 so far and projected to have to get an esophagus feeding tube tomorrow for another $1,700 with the correct injectable food. The medicine is food but force feeding can lead to food aversion and highly discouraged due to possible long term complications. We are watching our other cat like a hawk as she is showing signs of stress… stress can be a cause . There is hope
