Let Gaza Learn! دع غزة تتعلم!
Huda Salim Al-Afash is a 35-year-old educator, caretaker, and kind hearted soul surviving in North Gaza. She is transforming the rubble of a year-long genocide into an educational sanctuary by building a remote school house for the children of Gaza. My name is Emma and I am fundraising on Huda’s behalf
When the school Huda had been teaching at for years was destroyed in the war, she created her own education center using a table and some chairs she was able to find. A year later, her dream is to expand the school and provide lessons in all subjects to the youth of Gaza. Huda’s selfless efforts are completely unpaid. The only compensation she receives are the smiles of curious young students who, for a moment, can forget the pain of war to feel the joy of learning.
With our help, we can provide Huda with the funding she needs to keep her school in session and Gaza’s children educated. Here are some of the things Huda needs:
- Tents - As winter approaches in Gaza, the children need a weather-proof place to learn and stay warm during their lessons.
- Desks and Chairs
- Workbooks
- Paper, pens, and pencils
- Fresh hot meals - Every lesson, Huda brings homemade snacks and meals for the children so they can have sustenance while they learn.
- Staff - Huda cannot educate the children of Gaza alone! With more funding, she can hire teachers with specialties in a variety of subjects and ages, expanding the opportunity of education to as many young people as possible.
- Cost of Living - Huda provides education to these young people for free. Outside of her volunteer lessons, she also takes care of her family, including her father who has cancer, her diabetic mother, and her disabled sister, along with many young nieces and nephews. A portion of the funding will go towards Huda and her family, so she can sustain this lifesaving educational work for the children of Gaza.
Costs are rising in Gaza and destruction is never ending. Huda is providing these young people with stability, knowledge, and hope in a time of darkness. To sustain her dream, give what you can today. And if you cannot give, please share our campaign via SpotFund or Instagram.
