Hi, everyone. My name is Amanda and I’m writing this with a heart full of gratitude that my daughter Elaine is still here with us after a terrifying car accident. A few days ago, while driving on an icy bridge without guardrails, her car lost control, rolled, and landed in a freezing lake. Miraculously, she managed to escape on her own. It is nothing short of a miracle that she walked away with only minor injuries, and I will forever be thankful for that.

In the immediate aftermath, all we could think was, “Thank God she’s alive.” The shock and relief of her survival consumed us. But as the days have passed, we’re starting to fully realize the financial challenges this accident has created—both now and in the long term. We have already begun exhausting all of our financial resources. Finding a replacement vehicle, something she desperately needs, completely wiped out my savings and then some.

Elaine also lost many items in the accident—some of them functional, others sentimental, all of them important to her sense of normalcy and feeling “whole” again. Among the losses are:

Two laptops and her beloved Kindle (she’s a passionate reader).

Her Taylor Swift CD collection and exclusive Taylor Swift clothing—things that brought her so much joy.

Galaxy earbuds, a Samsung watch, and her phone, all of which were damaged.

Clothing and personal items, some of which had sentimental value.

Beyond these material losses, Elaine is struggling with the emotional toll of the accident. She’s working through the mental and emotional trauma, and we’re ensuring she has access to counseling to help her heal. Unfortunately, the medical costs—including the ambulance ride, ER visit, and therapy—are already looking to be a financial stressor. My insurance will cover some of the costs, but we will be left with a significant amount of medical debt.

Many of you have asked how you can help, and while it’s hard to ask for financial assistance, we are humbly reaching out for support during this difficult time. The funds raised will go toward:

Covering the cost of Elaine’s medical care, including therapy.

Replacing her lost personal items.

Helping with the financial strain of replacing her vehicle and other unexpected expenses.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support we’ve already received. Your kindness means the world to us. Whether through a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this campaign, we deeply appreciate anything you can do to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of Elaine’s journey. We’re thankful beyond words that she is alive, and with your support, we hope to help her rebuild and heal.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Amanda & Elaine

From Elaine: I'm not one to ask for much, unless I'm shopping with my mom. A week ago I felt terror that words will never describe, I felt a cold that will follow me every time I feel a breeze, and I felt grateful to see another day. Talking about the emotional part of my accident makes me uncomfortable, partially because I'll never fully be able to describe it and partially because I don't want anyone to try and understand. Everytime I think of my beloved car I think of how it looked and smelled in the following days, and how much crap I kept in it. Clothes, books, snacks for between jobs, school supplies, shoes, make-up, CDs, perfume, anything that could come with me went into that car. Then that car and I went into a lake, and all of the things I felt important enough to come everywhere with me were ruined. Then my mind finally wanders to the other things I've lost, my best friend(my beautiful car) but especially my comfort driving something I previously loved.

With all these recent losses and financial burden suddenly placed upon us, my mother and I made the decision to do something we don't so very often, ask for help. We ask humbly and kindly to donate what/if you can, share the link, or even help us advocate for guardrails so no one has to go through the trauma I have
